Alexander Mikhailovich Kurzanov (b. 1938)
Alexander Mikhailovich Kurzanov was born in Voronezh in 1938. He studied painting at the Moscow University of Art from 1957 to 1960, continued at the Ryazan Art School, and later studied at the Academy of Art in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Since 1973, Kurzanov has participated in regional, republic, and national exhibitions. He was admitted to the Artists’ Union of the USSR in 1980 and has exhibited in Czechoslovakia, England, France, Germany, Spain, and the United States.
Although known for landscapes of the Voronezh region, he is also recognized for historical and political paintings and portraits of the elderly. His works are held by Russian cultural institutions, regional museums, and private collections in Russia and abroad.
